Pomor Koch boat, which is a wooden historical boat, is being built on the shipyard on Moseev island in Arkhangelsk city. The aim of the project is to revive and develop the craft of wooden shipbuilding, plot transregional expeditionary routes along the arctic coast and to promote life in the north. “Koch boat is a collective vision, spectacular example of a perfect fishing boat, which is a symbol of firmness and steadiness inherent in pioneers of the North. At the same time it is a symbol of epoch when wooden vessels were used to shape and confirm boundaries of Russia in Arctic.
